Help Us Pick a New Blellow Tagline!

We started working on a tagline for Blellow a few months ago, but never finalized it because none of them were quite right. I’d like to hear from you which ones sound the best or if any other ideas spring to mind to describe Blellow.

If you have any other suggestions please leave them in the comments below. We’re specifically looking for something that sounds strong, describes what Blellow is clearly, and is catchy.

  1. Network. Collaborate. Get Work Done
  2. Learn. Share. Grow
  3. Create It Quicker, Better, Together.
  4. Get Feedback. Get Answers. Get Back to Work.
  5. Blellow. A knowledge base of you
  6. Communicate. Collaborate. Congregate
  7. Ask questions. Get answers. Get back to work.
  8. Collaborate. Solve Problems. Find Work.
  9. Collaborative Crowd Sourcing
  10. Virtual Co-Working

  • As several pointed out in the comments on the name thread, Blellow has a reasonable challenge because the idea behind the name is not very apparent.
  • Blellow... Where the Pros Say Hello

    or #6, but maybe reordered...
    Congregate. Communicate. Collaborate.

Reordering the words identifies the process a little better.
1st you congregate, get to know people.
Next you communicate, start talking and networking.
Collaberate. Once you've made some connections, start working on projects, etc.

Just my $0.02... keep the change. =o)

  • I kinda like a combination of 7 and 8. Telling people "Get Back To Work" pushes away the social emphasis you guys have built here, though.

You definitely need to keep the tagline short, and something with periods in it kind of automatically makes a reader put an emphasis on the words within.

These two are my favorites because they are simple and easy to remember.

    2. Learn. Share. Grow
    6. Communicate. Collaborate. Congregate

Well I guess I'll try to get this roll'n.....with a few quick notes.

I went back over the comments in the primary thread about the name as well as the explanation of Blellow. I think AFTER looking into it, reading the FAQ, and using the site a little bit the idea behind the name Blellow becomes more and more clear. The issue is the invested time that many aren't willing to give a new concept in order to explain itself; of course this is where someone more educated in marketing than myself would chime in on the importance of the name, branding, logo, tagline...etc. As several pointed out in the comments on the name thread, Blellow has a reasonable challenge because the idea behind the name is not very apparent. Even if you see the blue+yellow tie....the next natural thought is ' annnnnd that has to do with.....what....exactly?', which again they'd have to dig to find out.

I personally love the concept of Blellow and ideals that serve it's foundation as a service and I understand the intended visual of "" bringing known elements together in a different way, resulting in something new & unexpected. "". Being honest, running with that idea, I do think other words could have been fused that formed a name easier to say and more obviously portrayed the site's function. Regardless, I still think you should stick with Blellow; you certainly have 'unique' going for you, and again, I get it. Hopefully some of the following or a combination therein will spark ideas that lead to a tagline to helps others get it too.

So - I sat down a bit ago with some over-sized pretzel sticks and put http://bit.ly/xEYGD on repeat ( a fairly perfect musical representation of my thought process(es) ), and came up with the following in no particular order...

Blellow : A blend of what you know, evolved.

+ I think it helps see the blue & yellow = blellow ( for that ' ah - I see what you did there' moment ).
    ++Has the correlating ' bl ' phonetic.

Blellow : A modern blend of primary tools you know.

+I'm not sure I hit the mark with this from a 'catchy' side of things but you probably see where I was going with the 'primary' term......blendy....tools...................you know?

Blellow : The new color of professional collaboration.

+Much like the first I think mentioning color would invite them to take a second look at the name and see the blue+yellow and direct mention of the site function.

Blellow: A refreshing fusion of the familiar.

+I'm a sucker for alliteration. Conveniently, so are other people.

    Blellow: Where collaboration meets innovation.

+Now I'm reachin' - but there is the similar phonetic of words and it's fairly direct, semi-catchy.
++This is way to generic of a thought to not be used already.

Blellow: No, we're not a new Ben & Jerry's flavor.
    ~lol....Sorry, it's 5am.

So there you go, a start. I look forward to seeing more submissions !

Great thoughts, Zak! I like the idea of trying to tie in the "why Blellow", but I think it may be better to explain the overall goal and purpose of Blellow in the tagline...

THanks for putting your head to it! Gives me more to think about :)

Also, the link to the song was excellent, thanks for that as well.
  • Hahaha Zak, Love the "Ben & Jerry's" one. Love all the contributions, now get some sleep, man!
  • Number 6 for the win (and not just because of Patrick McGoohan, either).
